Senior Refrigeration Technician

We are currently looking for a Senior Refrigeration Technician to join our Maintenance team.

The Job

The Senior Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, repair and installation of HVAC/refrigeration, central plant and digital control systems. Responsible for the associated components, auxiliary equipment, water treatment, and monitoring systems.

Job Role

• Planning for jobs to be completed in given timeframes agreed with management for outlets and hotels
• Assigning work to other technicians and checking jobs are being done on the required standards and timeframes
• Planning for preventive and corrective maintenance
• Reading and interpreting blueprints and compliance schematics
• Installing climate control systems, refrigeration units
• Observing and testing newly installed systems.
• Troubleshooting refrigeration equipment failures.
• Maintaining stock levels ordering materials and parts needed after confirmed from management
• Replacing worn seals, outer shells, and worn-out motors
• Informing management of repair costs and alternate cooling options
• Taking call outs and well working on silent hours when planned maintenance is required
• Carry out regular site inspections
• Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation
• Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements
• Record incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managers
• Keep up to date with new legislation and ensure equipment is installed safely

Job Requirements

• Outstanding soldering and blazing skills, applying oxygen/propane.
• The ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, following manuals on operations and installations to complete tasks successfully.
• To apply various types of equipment safely and efficiently.
• To prioritize assigned tasks for increased job delivery.
• Properly investigate problems with food equipment, discover the issue and correct it.
• Possess refrigerant transition and recovery certification.
• Strong knowledge of basic electrical practice, theory and safety.
• Strong knowledge of the fundamental of commercial refrigeration practice and theory.

About You

• Experience in similar role.
• Strong keyboarding and basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of plumbing repair, installation practice and procedure.
• The ability to quickly understand and carry out both written and oral instructions effectively.
• Working independently without direct supervision and take responsibility for the repair of assigned equipment.
• Must possess a valid driving licence.
