Airfield Maintenance Co-Ordinator
Malta International Airport plc is looking for dynamic individuals who are passionate about working with people within an Airport environment and are willing to continuously learn, develop, and be part of a high-performance culture. This vacancy has arisen within the Technical Facilities Department.
Purpose of Position:
To be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the aerodrome pavement and civil engineering infrastructure and lead the airfield maintenance team and grass-cutters.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- To facilitate, implement, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance and upkeep of the Aerodrome pavement and civil engineering infrastructure.
- To ensure aerodrome infrastructure is maintained within the requirements and recommendations of International Regulatory Standards including but not limited to EASA and ICAO.
- To maintain a works schedule, lead the airfield maintenance team in relation to pavement marking (apron, taxiway and runway markings), corrective maintenance, de-rubberization, asphalting, surfacing crack-sealing, and paintwork activities
- To be responsible for leading the Airfield grasscutters and ensure that the grass is kept to the required standard a t all times
- To co-ordinate closures of operational areas, through the appropriate requests for issuance of NOTAMs forwarded to the Operations Department
- To carry out airfield inspections related to EASA and security requirements such as pavement monitoring, perimeter fence and grass inspections
- To co-ordinate maintenance requirement of buildings and facilities in the airfield areas.
Educational and skill requirements
- Should have an aptitude for technical matters.
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in construction, civil works, or related experience
- Knowledgeable or willing to learn about the airport processes.
- Have excellent planning, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient use of MS Office.
- An equivalent of a minimum of an MQF level 4 certification or better technical qualification preferably in Building services or civil engineering
- Must be in possession of an Airfield Driving Permit (ADP) or should hold a valid driving license (Cars, Category B) and be willing to obtain an ADP.
