Assistant Quality Control Manager

Our Client is a global generic pharmaceutical company that specialises in the development and manufacturing of both APIs and FDFs. Their solid dosage form site in Malta (EU GMP, US FDA & ANVISA approved) is expanding, and they are seeking motivated and capable individuals to join their growing team.

As an Assitant Quality Control Manager who will be responsible for assisting the QC Manager in executing quality related functions and activities under the responsibility of the QC department.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all QC activities are carried out and properly documented in alignment with company protocols, SOPs, and current GMP regulations.
  • Approve or reject starting materials and packaging materials in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Approve Certificates of Analysis (CoA) for incoming materials and finished products.
  • Review analytical methods, specifications, stability records, and other QC documentation.
  • Maintain and enter QC-related Master Data into the company’s MRP/ERP system.
  • Review and communicate sampling instructions and coordinate sample collection with the Production team.
  • Participate in the review and resolution of change controls and deviations related to QC activities.
  • Support the QC Manager with laboratory procurement administration and vendor communications.
  • Contribute to onboarding and training of new QC staff to ensure consistent adherence to protocols and expectations.

Requirements:

  • A higher qualification in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical QC environment.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate team members in a lab-based setting.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • A results-focused mindset that reflects the company’s values of excellence, integrity, and commitment.

Package:

  • Salary: €36,000-37,000 with annual salary reviews at end of each year
  • Annual Performance bonus - up to 10% of annual gross salary
