Associate - Aerodrome Safety
Malta International Airport plc is looking for dynamic individuals who are passionate about working within an airport environment, and are willing to continuously learn, develop, and be part of a high-performance culture. This vacancy has arisen within the Aerodrome Safety & Compliance Department.
Purpose of Position:
The main purpose of this role is to monitor the effectiveness of the Aerodrome Safety Management System and oversee the compliance with operational safety requirements.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support management in monitoring the effectiveness of the Aerodrome Safety Management System and overseeing the implementation of operations safety oversight processes.
- Administer the reviewing, on a continual basis, of safety performance (with reference to benchmarking and safety performance indicators, trend analysis, accident investigations, audit and inspection results, etc.) and oversee the implementation of appropriate safety initiatives and improvement actions.
- Liaise with aerodrome stakeholders and other third-parties on safety related matters.
- Manage established systems for document and data control in respect of key documents relative to the Aerodrome Safety and Compliance Department.
- Assure that all aerodrome safety documentation is held current and consistent with regulations.
- Coordinate and participate in safety assessments for works or other changes which may affect the aerodrome
- Review the content of published EASA Safety Information Bulletins (SIBs) applicable to Aerodrome Operators, with a view to recommend required actions by respective departments.
Educational and skill requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- Be able to communicate and write professionally clearly both in English (Maltese would be an asset).
- Have 5 years’ experience within the aviation industry or relevant studies to the role.
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Be highly analytical, precise and have experience with statistics as well as observing trends.
- Be knowledgeable in Office particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Be energetic, self-motivated and with a positive mind-set.
- Be highly organised.
- Be capable of working well within a team.
- Have the ability to effectively plan and manage own workloads.
