Business Development, Sales & Purchasing Manager

Freedor Limited, a wholesale distribution company, is looking to employ a Business Development, Sales & Purchasing Manager

Role:

To maximise purchasing efficiencies/effectiveness, constantly increase existing sales and generate new sales leads and to develop new business opportunities in line with company Strategy.

Reports to: General Manager

Main tasks and responsibilities

Purchasing

  • To help craft and implement the company’s Purchasing Strategy (ensuring the right mix of parallel products, local agents’ products and/or imported products) to ensure the best prices for a healthy profit margin and satisfy customer demand.
  • To maintain records of goods ordered and received and provide analytics to senior management.
  • To negotiate the best prices and contracts with suppliers.
  • To build relationships with sellers (pharmacies, supermarkets, courier delivery customers, agents/distributors, importers/exporters, etc.) both locally and abroad.
  • To carry out market research so as to compare best prices and/or new opportunities
  • Ensure the company is using the appropriate, latest and most appropriate technology and exploits e-commerce opportunities in line with the company’s business strategy.

Sales

  • To lead the sales team in order to reach and exceed sales targets.
  • To prepare, implement and coordinate the company’s Sales Strategy covering both local and abroad.
  • To prepare and implement sales budgets, special offers and campaigns.
  • To handle and resolve customer complaints.
  • To provide customers with after-sales support.
  • To build long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
  • To constantly identify sales opportunities and exploit them.

Business Development

  • To craft and develop a growth strategy for the company.
  • To carry out market research and align the company’s sales strategy, sales channels and product mix with the best and most appropriate business opportunities in line with the company’s business Strategy.
  • To develop and maintain relationships with clients.
  • To monitor the competitive landscape (prices, products, trends, opportunities, etc.).
  • To prepare, monitor, update and renew sales or distribution agreements.


Any other duties and responsibilities, as required and directed by the General Manager/Director(s). 

Educational and skill requirements
  • The ideal applicant should have relevant experience in a similar role
  • An eye for detail
  • A secondary-school level of education (with school leaving certificate)
  • A clean driving license 
  • Clean police conduct certificate
  • Ability to speak both Maltese and English.
