Credit Control Officer

A vacancy has arisen for the post of Credit Control Officer within Simonds Farsons Cisk plc. Reporting to the Credit Control Manager, the selected candidate, will be responsible to assist in the day-to-day functions of the Credit Control Department including the collection of dues in a timely manner. The selected candidate will be responsible for a portfolio of Receivables, together with assisting the Credit Control Manager in the daily managing of the department. The selected candidate will also have the opportunity to improve work processes and practices while motivating and positively influencing the team.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Oversee and manage the portfolio assigned while ensuring that Receivables remain in line with the approved credit limits.
Chasing diligently on a regular basis , whilst ensuring proper customer care at all times;
Ensuring that the assigned portfolio is constantly up to date including timely postings and accurate allocations,
Reviewing the portfolio on a regular basis and take all actions necessary to ensure that the portfolio is always up to date;
Ensuring immediate chasing and discussions with defaulting debtors and taking the lead to initiate the legal process where applicable.
Ensuring credit control procedures are implemented, always maintained and adhered to,
Resolving queries both internally and externally in an efficient manner.
Have a professional approach while ensuring that credit arrangements are honored.

Educational and skill requirements

The selected candidate/s will:

Ideally have an O Level standard of education
Have experience in a credit control environment;
Be self-motivated; show initiative and capable to work independantly under pressure, being loyal and practicing high ethical standards at all times;
Possess communication and leadership skills;
Be ICT literate with good presentation skills;
Be confident and able to handle challenging conversations.
