Delivery Person

We are seeking a reliable and responsible Delivery Person to ensure the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of goods to customers while maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.

The role includes preparing orders for delivery, ensuring products are handled and transported safely, collecting returns and payments when required, and maintaining accurate delivery records and documentation upon returning to the distribution centre.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate professionalism, reliability, good organisational skills, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Delivery Preparation: Load and organise goods onto the assigned company vehicle, ensuring all items are ready for delivery.
Route Planning: Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries.
Order Delivery: Deliver goods safely and accurately, ensuring products arrive in good condition and in the correct quantities.
Returns Management: Collect and handle customer returns according to company procedures.
Payment Collection: Obtain customer signatures and collect payments when applicable.
Delivery Documentation: Maintain accurate delivery records and reconcile documents and payments upon returning to the distribution centre.
Vehicle Care: Keep the assigned company vehicle clean and report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs.
Health and Safety: Comply with road traffic regulations, health and safety standards,
and company policies.
Customer Service: Provide professional, courteous, and efficient service to customers.
Team Communication: Communicate effectively with the distribution team regarding deliveries, delays, or any issues encountered.

Educational and skill requirements

Valid Category C/C1 driving licence recognised in Malta (mandatory).
Valid Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
Valid Food Handling Licence B.
Minimum B1 level of English proficiency.
Basic knowledge of Maltese is an advantage.
Good organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to plan efficient delivery routes using GPS navigation systems.
Basic digital skills, including the use of smartphones, delivery applications, and barcode scanners.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deliveries.
Physically capable of safely lifting, loading, and unloading goods weighing up to 20 kg without assistance.
Previous driving or delivery experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
Responsible, punctual, and reliable attitude.
