Handy Personnel

Job Summary

Zzzing is looking for reliable and practical Handy Personnel to carry out general maintenance, minor repairs and upkeep across our portfolio of apartments and properties. The successful candidate will travel between properties to ensure that apartments are maintained in good condition and that any maintenance issues are dealt with promptly.

The ideal candidate should have a hands-on approach, be able to work independently and take pride in delivering good-quality work.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs in apartments and other properties managed by the Company.
• Attend properties to identify and resolve maintenance issues reported by guests, housekeeping staff or management.
• Perform basic plumbing repairs, such as fixing leaking taps, replacing showerheads and clearing minor blockages.
• Carry out minor electrical maintenance where competent and authorised to do so.
• Repair or replace door handles, locks, hinges, furniture, fittings and other household items.
• Carry out painting, touch-ups, silicone sealing and other basic finishing works.
• Check appliances, lighting, air-conditioning units and other property equipment, reporting faults where specialist assistance is required.
• Assist with the preparation of apartments before guest check-in and ensure that properties are kept in good condition.
• Transport tools, materials and replacement items between properties as required.
• Report major defects, damages or maintenance requirements to the relevant manager.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and ensure that work areas are left clean and tidy.
• Respond to urgent maintenance requests when required.
• Carry out any other duties related to property maintenance and the smooth running of operations.

Requirements:

• Must currently be residing in Malta.
• Must hold a valid EU or Maltese driving licence.
• Previous experience in general maintenance, handyman work, property maintenance or a similar role.
• Practical knowledge of basic repairs, plumbing, painting and general property upkeep.
• Ability to work independently, organise daily tasks and manage time effectively.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible, with a positive attitude towards work.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to travel between different properties across Malta as required.

Working Conditions:

The role involves travelling between properties, carrying tools and materials, and performing physical maintenance tasks. Working hours may occasionally require flexibility depending on guest requirements and urgent maintenance needs.
