Role Overview
The ICT Manager will lead and manage the organisation's technology operations, ensuring systems and services run efficiently and securely. This role will involve contributing to technical projects, guiding internal teams, and collaborating with external partners to implement innovative solutions. The successful candidate will help shape the organisation’s technology strategy while supporting staff and stakeholders in adopting new tools and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Technology Strategy Leadership: Develop, update, and implement the organisation's technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Solution Development & Implementation: Oversee the creation and deployment of new IT solutions, including drafting technical specifications and contributing to procurement and tender processes.
- Technical Support & Stakeholder Collaboration: Ensure the IT team provides timely and effective support to staff and external partners, and work with other departments to integrate technology into business practices.
- Budget & Resource Management: Manage the IT budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet strategic objectives.
- Information Security & Compliance: Safeguard information assets by implementing robust security measures, policies, and disaster recovery procedures, while monitoring systems to prevent breaches.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
- Education: Recognised Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field; or a Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience. Candidates with substantial senior managerial experience in technology may also be considered.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 to 3 years relevant experience, or 10 years of senior managerial experience for non-degree holders, ideally within technology or digital innovation environments.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required. Proficiency in Maltese is advantageous.
- Communication Skills: Capable of clearly conveying technical information and guidance to a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to foster collaboration, build trust, and maintain professional relationships with internal teams and external partners.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of ICT systems, cybersecurity principles, and emerging technologies. Project management certification (e.g., Prince2) is an asset.
- Organisation: Skilled in planning, prioritising, and managing multiple initiatives effectively.
- Self-Motivated: Driven to achieve results and continuously improve processes and outcomes.
- Problem-Solving: Proficient at analysing challenges and implementing practical, innovative solutions.
