Role Overview

Our Client is seeking a Junior React Developer to join its development team. This role is ideal for a motivated developer with a solid foundation in React, keen to contribute to modern, interactive web applications while collaborating closely with backend and AI engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Application Development: Build responsive and engaging web applications using React.js, ensuring a seamless user experience.
• UI Component Creation: Design and implement sophisticated interface components for intuitive navigation and interaction.
• Integration: Incorporate mapping services and visualisation libraries to support location-based functionality.
• Collaboration: Work alongside backend developers to integrate RESTful APIs and with AI engineers to deliver user-focused features.
• Code Quality and Optimisation: Maintain clean, well-documented code while improving frontend performance and scalability.
• Cross-Browser Support: Ensure compatibility and responsive design across different browsers and devices.
• Code Review Participation: Contribute to frontend architecture discussions and participate in team code reviews.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

• Education: Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Some hands-on experience in frontend development, ideally with exposure to React.js and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required; knowledge of Maltese is advantageous.
• Communication Skills: Ability to clearly articulate ideas and technical concepts to team members.
• Interpersonal Skills: Collaborative mindset, comfortable working in cross-functional teams.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, CSS; familiarity with state management tools (Redux, Context API), RESTful APIs, Git, and frontend build tools (Webpack, Babel).
• Organisation: Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
• Self-Motivated: Driven to learn, grow, and contribute proactively to projects.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimise frontend applications efficiently.
