Lifts Installer

To assist in carrying out work as directed by Lifts Manager or his immediate superior.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Install and assemble lift systems, including elevators, escalators, and moving walkways
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
Transport and position lift components such as rails, motors, and control panels
Install electrical wiring, control systems, and mechanical parts
Ensure alignment, levelling, and proper positioning of lift equipment
Test installed systems to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance
Follow all health and safety regulations and company standards
Troubleshoot installation issues and make necessary adjustments
Work closely with engineers, site managers, and other construction professionals
Maintain accurate records of installation work and materials used

Educational and skill requirements

Mechanical skills – ability to install lift components, rails, doors, motors and other mechanical parts.
Basic electrical knowledge – understanding of wiring, electrical components and control systems.
Technical drawing skills – ability to read and follow installation drawings, plans and technical manuals.
Hand and power tool proficiency – confident and safe use of installation tools and equipment.
Problem-solving skills – ability to identify and resolve installation or technical issues.
Health & Safety awareness – particularly when working at heights, in lift shafts and with electrical/mechanical equipment.
