About the Role

We are currently looking for a Research Assistant to join our new research project for a definite period of 6 months (ending November 2025) on a reduced basis (thirty-two-hour week). Our Research Assistant shall support projects within the fields of disability and psychological research directly related to accessible language within the disability sector. Responsibilities include supporting research design, data collection and analysis, preparing reports, scientific papers, and conference materials, as well as handling related administrative tasks. The role involves close collaboration with the Principal Investigator and other team members to ensure ethical and high-quality research practices.


What you'll be doing

  • Support the planning and design of data collection.
  • Conduct data collection using qualitative and quantitative methods including interviews, surveys, reaction time measures, and Eye Tracking.
  • Assist in data pre-processing and statistical data analysis.
  • Prepare, organise, conduct, and report on focus groups and workshops with and for persons with disabilities.
  • Support the creation and writing of scientific papers, research reports, protocols, and conference contributions.
  • Adhere to the highest ethical standards in data collection and handling of sensitive data.
  • Assist in administrative tasks related to the research projects such as communication with collaborators, preparation and formatting of deliverables, data storage, etc.
  • Participate in project meetings and conferences (online and in-person) in Malta and abroad.

What we’re looking for

A precise, reliable and consistent individual with an approach and willingness to learn and high attention to detail. The ideal candidate shall have excellent time management and organization skills and flexible to travel abroad as required throughout the project.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Undergraduate in psychology, social sciences, disability studies, experimental linguistics, or a related field
  • Basic knowledge in experimental methods.
  • Basic experience in statistical data analysis.
  • Previous experience in working/ supporting projects within a relative field/ sector will be considered as an advantage.
  • High proficiency in the English language (C1 level both spoken and written).
  • Willingness to travel.
