Restaurant Host

We are seeking to recruit a Restaurant Host to join our dynamic team at our 2* Michelin-star restaurant ION Harbour. As a key member of the F&B team, you will play a crucial role in creating an exceptional dining experience for our guests, by being their first point of contact.

This is the perfect role for personable and outgoing individuals, who thrive on delivering exceptional levels of service.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Manage and record reservations through telephone and online portals, ensuring accurate documentation.
Handle guest inquiries regarding seating availability, menus, and other restaurant-related questions promptly and professionally.
Confirms guest reservations as per established procedures.
Warmly welcomes guests and escorts them to their assigned tables.
Monitor restaurant activity to manage seating arrangements and dining flows effectively.
Coordinate and lead venue tours for potential function bookings, providing quotes based on guest requirements.
Manages the coat service function of the restaurant.
Provides assistance to the Front of House team with events operation.
Prints out the daily menus and looks after the menu folders, function sheets and briefing material in an organised manner.
Issue bills and handle cash closures at the end of shifts as needed.
Support the Restaurant Manager and Front of House team during lunch and dinner services and other events.
Takes the initiative to familiarise oneself with the menu options and keeps abreast of any planned changes.
Performs other duties as required in keeping with the responsibility of the role.

Educational and skill requirements

Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a fine-dining establishment, will be considered an asset.
Positive attitude with the ability to remain flexible and calm under pressure.
Charismatic, professional, and presentable.
Superior customer service orientation.
Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Team player with a collaborative mindset.
Willing to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
