Restaurant Host

We are seeking to recruit a Restaurant Host to join our dynamic team at our 2* Michelin-star restaurant ION Harbour. As a key member of the F&B team, you will play a crucial role in creating an exceptional dining experience for our guests, by being their first point of contact.

Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Manage and record reservations through telephone and online portals, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Handle guest inquiries regarding seating availability, menus, and other restaurant-related questions promptly and professionally.
  • Confirms guest reservations as per established procedures.  
  • Warmly welcomes guests and escorts them to their assigned tables.
  • Monitor restaurant activity to manage seating arrangements and dining flows effectively.
  • Coordinate and lead venue tours for potential function bookings, providing quotes based on guest requirements.
  • Manages the coat service function of the restaurant.  
  • Provides assistance to the Front of House team with events operation.  
  • Prints out the daily menus and looks after the menu folders, function sheets and briefing material in an organised manner.  
  • Issue bills and handle cash closures at the end of shifts as needed.
  • Support the Restaurant Manager and Front of House team during lunch and dinner services and other events.
  • Takes the initiative to familiarise oneself with the menu options and keeps abreast of any planned changes. 
  • Performs other duties as required in keeping with the responsibility of the role. 
Educational and skill requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a fine-dining establishment, will be considered an asset. 
  • Positive attitude with the ability to remain flexible and calm under pressure.
  • Charismatic, professional, and presentable.
  • Superior customer service orientation.
  • Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset.
  • Willing to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
