The first Pizza Hut® outlet in Malta was opened by Food Chain (Holdings) Limited in St. Julian's in 1993. The restaurant was an immediate hit with locals and tourists alike, with long queues outside waiting to be seated. Sliema and Valletta were subsequently opened in 1993 and 1995 respectively.
During December 2004, the fifth outlet was officially opened in the centre of Bugibba and a professional home/office delivery service was then introduced with the opening of Pizza Hut® Valletta.
With the results of high demand for delivery services, in October 2009 a new Take-Out and Delivery outlet was opened at Pavi Supermarket, Qormi while in October 2022 a sixth outlet opened in Campus Hub Msida.

Restaurant Manager
Food Chain Ltd operates 17 stores in total across Malta for Burger King, Pizza Hut and KFC. A vacancy arose with Pizza Hut for the post of Restaurant Manager. Main tasks and responsibilities
- Controls all costs of sales, labor and semi-variables on a daily, weekly and period basis.
- Identifies deviations from desired results and takes immediate corrective action.
- Submits accurate reports on a timely basis.
- Complies with cash/inventory control procedures.
- Maintains positive labor relations
- Recruits, interviews and select the right employees for the company.
- Conduct induction training.
- Develops and coaches' personnel for career development.
- Monitor employees' performance.
- Ensure floor management techniques are applied.
- Provides regular feedback to employees.
- Conducts performance reviews on a timely basis.
- Maintains positive customer relations by ensuring prompt, friendly service according to company guidelines and creating an environment of customer awareness by crew.
- Ensure quality products in line with KFC international specifications and Standards of Operations and by maintaining adequate inventory levels.
- Maintains physical plant.
Educational and skill requirements
- A minimum of a Higher Diploma in Management or a related field.
- At least 2 years of local experience managing a catering establishment, preferably in a fast-food environment; proven experience in inventory management, cost control, managing P&L statements and achieving financial targets, dealing with local suppliers, as well as recruiting, interviewing, and selecting staff.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams in a high-paced environment.
- Customer-focused mindset: Demonstrated commitment to delivering excellent customer service and handling complaints effectively.
- Familiarity with HACCP standards and local health department regulations.
- Strong computer skills, including proficient use of Microsoft Windows OS and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work flexible hours: Including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required by restaurant operations.
- A valid driving license and access to own vehicle.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written)
