Senior Application Development Officer
About the Function
The Data Management & Business Intelligence (DMBI) function enables the MFSA to effectively manage, govern and leverage its data and digital information assets. It is responsible for data management and governance, data quality, enterprise reporting and analytics, business intelligence, records management, and key data platforms and solutions that support regulatory supervision and decision-making. DMBI works across the organisation to ensure data is trusted, accessible, well-governed and transformed into actionable insight, while enabling the Authority’s broader digital and data strategy.
About the Role
The selected candidate will be expected to develop, maintain and support the digital solutions delivered through the Authority’s strategic workflow and case-management platform, which is currently based on PEGA. These solutions support regulatory, supervisory and enforcement processes and the consolidation of information across the lifecycle of licence holders.
The Senior Application Development Officer will work within the Digital Solutions team, alongside internal colleagues and external delivery partners, to translate approved requirements into reliable, well-documented and maintainable solutions, and support the transition of the platform to MFSA ownership.
Key responsibilities:
- Configure and develop workflows, case management processes, data models and user interfaces on the Authority’s workflow and case-management platform.
- Implement change requests and enhancements in line with approved designs, development standards and the Authority’s design authority decisions.
- Develop and maintain integrations between the platform and other internal and external systems, using APIs and web services.
- Prepare and maintain unit tests for all delivered work, and support regression and user acceptance testing.
- Investigate and resolve defects and incidents, and support Level 3 support activities together with implementation partners.
- Deploy changes through the Authority’s release management processes, pipelines and environments.
- Document configurations, changes and technical procedures, and support the maintenance of data dictionaries and metadata.
- Take part in knowledge transfer from implementation partners and share knowledge within the team to reduce dependency on individual resources.
- Work closely with business analysts, testers, the Service Delivery team and Technology to ensure solutions meet business requirements and technology standards.
Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Head and/or as may be required by the MFSA from time to time based on the exigencies of the Authority.
