Technical Specialist (JCS – TS 09/26)

Joseph Cachia & Son Limited, a subsidiary within the M. Demajo Group is looking to expand and strengthen their technical team.

Besides representing world renowned brands, supplies, Joseph Cachia & Son Limited distributes and maintains money handling equipment, queuing systems, reverse vending machines, noise and air monitoring equipment to commercial and industrial entities. Furthermore, the company has a fully trained technical team providing a 24-hour round the clock maintenance and support service.

Joseph Cachia & Son Ltd has also developed strong business relationships with leading suppliers some of whom it has teamed up with, to successfully bid for large-scale tenders involving complex infrastructural projects in the field of energy, the environment and security.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Based in Malta and reporting directly to the Head of Operation- Technical Division, the selected Technical Specialist will be installing, servicing, and maintaining cash machines and queuing automation systems, while providing both hardware and software support, including troubleshooting, scripting, and system monitoring. The technician will interact with clients and promote the company’s solutions in a professional manner.

Educational and skill requirements

Requirements:

A minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experience with hardware installation, servicing, or maintenance (preferably automated systems);

Strong IT skills, including troubleshooting software and online platforms;

Familiarity with networking, cloud services, and system interfaces;

Basic understanding of API protocols and architectures, including RESTful services, HTTP methods, and status codes;

Strong problem-solving skills, tech-savvy, and keen to learn new technologies;

Good English communication skills and customer-focused attitude;

Willingness to work on standby or after-office hours support when required.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.

Enthusiasm for new technology and automation solutions.

Basic scripting or programming knowledge (Python, SQL, PowerShell, etc.) will be considered as an advantage but not mandatory.

Candidates possessing a good level of verbal and written communication skills in Maltese together with previous experience in Technical Support, will be given preference.
