Territory Manager (Central)

As a Territory Manager, the employee is responsible for the whole operation of the entrusted shops. The Designate Territory Manager leads the team to run a smooth operation whilst making sure that all shops are up to standard.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Category Management

  • Take active part in category management implementation.
  • Make sure that floorplan is implemented accordingly.
  • Make sure that all items are displayed on shelves according to the set planograms.
  • Follow up on implementation. 
  • Constant checking and maintenance to make sure that guidelines are being followed. 

Products

  • All shelves must be stocked according to category management.
  • Checking that FIFO is being implemented.
  • Carry out spot checks to confirm that supervisors are checking deliveries against invoices whilst making sure that all items received are according to the actual order placed.
  • Managing quality inputting from the respective supervisors.
  • Carry out spot checks to confirm that all price tags are updated and checked continuously to make sure that they are correct and that all products have their price displayed.
  • Make sure to maintain the correct stock levels to always have products available whilst maintaining very low stock returns.
  • Monitoring and taking collective action on wastages and consumabks report 

Meeting Targets

  • Monitor the daily sales reports received.
  • Continuously monitor sales of assigned shops whilst always putting forward suggestions to achieve sales targets.
  • Whilst monitoring sales, wastes and expenses must be continuously monitored to achieve bottom line.
  • Constantly motivate team to increase number of receipts and average spent to achieve budgets.
  • Focus on low performing shops and put forward suggestions to increase sales. 

Reports

  • Compile rosters on Dakar system according to shop needs to be adequately always staffed whilst keeping hours within the budgeted hours.
  • Follow up on Time & Attendance exceptions report and take corrective measures whenever required
  • Preparing reports that might be requested from time to time.

Cash

  • In the absence of the Cash Reconciliation Clerk or Shop Manager, to prepare deposits to be collected by the security company.
  • In the absence of the Cash Reconciliation Clerk or Shop Manager, make sure that coins received are according to request and delivery note.

Leading Employees

  • Always lead by example and set high standards of operation amongst the teams.
  • Make sure that the team is working in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Monitor team performance and conduct the necessary performance evaluations.
  • Identify individuals that have potential for advancement and liaise with HR department to plan their training.
  • Inform Human Resources and payroll on any changes in employee statuses.

Customer Care

  • All customers are always given an excellent customer care experience.
  • Any customer suggestions or complaints are followed up accordingly.

Policies and Procedures

  • Make sure that all Health and Safety Policies are adhered to.
  • Monitor that all checklists are filled in correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Make sure that all company policies are implemented and followed upon.

Others

  • All areas are always kept tidy and clean.
  • Identify local market trends & monitor competitors.
  • Visit the shop in emergency situations.
  • Organise spot checks of cashes to make sure that they are not over or under.
  • Following up on any action points related to financial or operational performancehighlighted by senior management.
  • Replace supervisors whenever they are on leave or whenever necessasy.
  • Support supervisors in whatever is needed.
