We are currently looking for one exceptional, enthusiastic individual with excellent knowledge of wine, sake, spirits as well as understanding of Japanese culture, who can work well under pressure in a team environment.

Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Be a team player. 
  • Interact warmly and confidently with customers. 
  • Receive and fulfil wine & sake orders.
  • Maintain composure under pressure. 
  • Become familiar with menu, ingredients, and kitchen preparations. 
  • Recommending food and wine pairings to clients. 
  • Assisting in curating and updating wine lists. 
  • Learn the POS and ordering systems comprehensively and use all software with confidence. 
  • Ensure wine quality, hygiene and work place safety established standards are achieved. 
  • Identify and report problems to management immediately. 
  • Assist to monitor wine inventory and ensure adequate supplies. 
  • Support day-to-day operation to ensure the overall smoothness when required and delivering the prompt service at all time. 
Educational and skill requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or a related field. 
  • WSET Diploma Certification. 
  • Proven work experience as a Sommelier, Wine Steward or Stewardess or a similar role in a Japanese restaurant or the Hospitality industry. 
  • Must possess strong Japanese sake and wine knowledge and be able to communicate it effectively to our guests. 
  • Understanding of the wine making process, food pairings, and glassware used. 
  • Good time management and organizational skills. 
  • Displaying good hygiene standards. 
  • Well-groomed and highly motivated individual. 
  • Ability to work for long hours and flexible timings. 
  • Ability to offer excellent customer service. 
  • Knowledge of the Japanese language and culture preferred. 
  • Fluent with English, both written and spoken.
