Commis Chef

We are looking for a Commis Chef to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis at Zitti Restaurant at the vibrant Merchants Street Valletta. The Commis Chef will be responsible for various kitchen duties, such as assisting in meal preparations, receiving deliveries, and rotating stock.

Key responsibilities:

• Assisting in the food preparation process;
• Preparing vegetables, meat and fish;
• Assisting other Chefs;
• Helping with deliveries and restocking;
• Plating and presenting meal items as per the Chef de Partie’s instructions;
• Performing other duties as assigned by management.
  
  

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
• Proven commercial kitchen experience.
• Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
• The ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work well in a team and to collaborate with all staff in the restaurant.
• Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised.
• Secondary school minimum level of education; Computer literacy.
• Good level of communication in the English language.
• Food Handling Licence B.
