Draughtsperson (Steel Fabrication)

We are currently seeking a skilled draughtsperson specializing in steel fabrication to join our drawing office and the operations’ dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and plans for steel structures, handrails, stairs, glazing works, etc. ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create accurate and detailed drawings of steel sections and structures.
Prepare information and utilize the provided design software to cut profiles using a CNC machine.
Visit sites to measure as required and gather the necessary information to be able to draw fabrication drawings for our workshop.
Interpret engineering designs, sketches, and specifications to produce technical drawings.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other team members to understand project requirements and objectives.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all drawings and designs.
Review and modify drawings as necessary to accommodate changes or revisions to project plans.
Prepare material lists and technical documentation related to steel sections and structures.
Maintain organized files and records of all drawings and project documentation.

Educational and skill requirements

MCAST, City & Guilds, or BTEC qualification in relevant field.
Proven experience as a draughtsperson specializing in steel fabrication will be considered as an asset.
Proficiency in CAD software.
Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when necessary.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Possession of an EU driving license will be considered as an asset.
