Express Trailers’ roots go as far back as the 1930’s. The Vella brothers, who up to very recently led the company, recall their grandfather George who was a port worker, clearing cargo from customs and delivering that cargo to his clients using a horse-driven cart. When business started picking up, he bought a Ford truck which his son Emmanuel started driving. When the Second World War was over, he started buying vehicles being sold by the army to be able to start building his transport business. Eventually, his eight sons started helping out and gradually built the business to what it is today. About

Trailer Driver

To deliver and collect all type of clients’ consignments without incurring any damages and according to the temperature conditions requested by the client and the Company, if applicable. If necessary to assist also in loading and unloading of such goods as instructed, leaving them in the condition requested by client.

Main tasks and responsibilities

To deliver safely any entrusted consignments;
To deliver consignments according to the required stipulated conditions, including temperature conditions;
To make sure that cargo is secure;
To tally consignments when loading / unloading and fill in / sign necessary documentation, obtain necessary signatures from clients, making notes of damages as necessary;
To read, understand and follow any specific instructions and all procedures and policies;
To read, understand and follow GDP and Importer’s Licence Quality Control SOPs if applicable and if relatively trained;
To abide by any memoranda / circulars or any directive issued by the company from time to time;
To adhere to health and safety regulations and instructions and to attend any related training as required;
To ensure quality of work throughout;
To ensure good customer service is given throughout;
To work with colleagues as part of a team to ensure that service offered is performed according to Express Trailers Ltd. set standards and to the satisfaction of clients;
To carry out other reasonable duties as required including driving other vehicles and equipment.

Educational and skill requirements

A clean police conduct
Previous experience working as a truck driver
Must be in possession of a CE and clean driving licence
Proficiency in both spoken and written Maltese and English
Available to work shift hours as well as evenings and weekends
Forklift and crane certifications as well as ADR certification would be considered an asset.
