Role Overview
The Billing Clerk will report directly to the Financial Controller and play a key role in managing financial transactions, ensuring accurate billing, and supporting the smooth operation of financial processes across various departments, including Food & Beverage and Front Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Cash and Credit Reconciliation: Perform daily reconciliations of cash and credit card transactions across all relevant outlets to maintain financial accuracy.
- Direct Booking Audits: Audit bookings made through the company’s hotel websites to ensure all transactions are correctly recorded.
- Tour Operator Billing: Review and verify tour operator billing processed by the Reservations team against agreed terms and contracts.
- Receipts Allocation: Manage and allocate incoming payments from tour operators efficiently and accurately.
- Stock Spot Checks: Assist in spot check procedures related to monthly stock takes to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Additional Duties: Undertake any other tasks aligned with the responsibilities of the role to support departmental and company operations.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
- Education: Minimum A-Level in Accounts.
- Experience: Previous experience in administrative or finance-related roles; experience within the hospitality industry is advantageous.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required. Ability to communicate in Maltese is an asset.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities to interact effectively with colleagues across departments.
- Interpersonal Skills: Professional approach and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with financial reconciliation processes.
- Organisation: Strong organisational and time-management skills to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-Solving: Capable of identifying discrepancies and resolving issues promptly and accurately.
