Chef De Partie

We are looking for a skilled and creative Chef de Partie to join our culinary team. As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for managing a specific section of the kitchen, overseeing food preparation, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and consistency.

The ideal candidate should have a strong culinary background, a passion for innovation, and the ability to collaborate effectively with the kitchen brigade.

    Main tasks and responsibilities
    • Leading staff within his/her section.
    • Providing guidance to junior members of the team, including but not limited to, line cooking, food preparation and dish plating.
    • Oversee and organising kitchen stock.
    • Ensure that wastage is kept to a minimum and by using existing systems to continuously improve.
    • Obtaining and maintaining a knowledge of products and that it is communicated to all relevant personnel.
    • Ensuring rotation system is followed at all times (first in-first-out) and verifying product dates and organisation for quality assurance. 
    • Ensuring that cooking stations are stocked and cleaned.
    • Training of new kitchen employees to company standards.
    • Management of food and product ordering, keeping of detailed records.
    • Supervision of all food preparation and presentation to ensure company standards.
    • Collaborating with his/her senior chefs to maintain kitchen organisation, staff ability and training opportunities.
    • Verifying that all storage units are within standards and consistently managed.
    • Cover sickness, and follow policies on absenteeism for team members when needed.
    • Follow health and safety policies including HACCP and other procedures in every aspect.
    • To be aware of and act in accordance with Fire Safety Procedures at all times.
    • Attending all statutory training as and when required by the company.
    • Acting according to company standards, at all times.
    • Any additional ad-hoc duties requested by your superior.
    Educational and skill requirements
    • Proven experience as a Chef De Partie or similar role in a professional kitchen.
    • Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
    • Knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and ingredients.
    • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
    • Strong organizational and leadership skills
    • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
    • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high culinary standards.
    • Proficient cooking skills and a diverse culinary repertoire.
    • Leadership and mentoring abilities to guide junior kitchen staff.
    • Adaptability to changing kitchen priorities
