

Construction Procurement Manager
Position Summary
Responsible for the procurement, engagement, and management of subcontractors across construction projects. The role involves sourcing and evaluating subcontractor quotations, conducting technical and commercial negotiations, preparing comparative analyses, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements. The position also oversees subcontractor onboarding, contract execution, performance monitoring through site visits, and the maintenance of accurate project documentation. Additionally, the role supports continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring adherence to quality, health and safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Obtain and analyse quotations from subcontractors for Bills of Quantities (BOQs), ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
- Meet with subcontractors to provide a technical overview and scope of projects.
- Prepare and maintain comparative analyses of subcontractor rates to support decision-making.
- Liaise with the contracting department to obtain technical data sheets and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Negotiate prices and commercial terms at the contract award stage.
- Engage selected subcontractors and ensure that subcontractor agreements are issued, executed, and signed by all parties.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and project progress through site visits, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of subcontractor communications, agreements, and project documentation.
- Support continuous improvement of subcontractor procurement processes and reporting.
Education Standard & Experience Required:
- Background in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, materials, methods, and specifications.
- 3 years + experience in procurement or commercial management within the construction sector.
- Excellent communication (Maltese and English) and negotiation skills.
- Basic Italian communication will be considered an asset
