Role Overview
The ERP Developer (.NET) will create and enhance enterprise applications that support essential business processes across a range of industries. Working alongside experienced technical professionals, the selected candidate will translate operational requirements into dependable software, contribute throughout the development lifecycle and help deliver sophisticated ERP projects to a consistently high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Enterprise Application Development: Build and refine business systems using C#, .NET and relevant ERP technologies, ensuring that each solution responds effectively to user and operational requirements.
- ERP Solution Delivery: Participate in the implementation and customisation of ERP platforms, including Acumatica or comparable enterprise management systems.
- Requirements Translation: Collaborate with consultants, technical colleagues and project stakeholders to convert business needs into practical software features and integrations.
- Database Development: Design and manage data-driven functionality using relational database technologies, with particular emphasis on Microsoft SQL Server.
- Software Quality: Produce structured, secure and sustainable code while applying appropriate development standards, testing practices and technical controls.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Investigate system defects, determine their underlying causes and implement effective corrections that protect application stability.
- Project Contribution: Manage assigned development work efficiently, communicate progress clearly and support the successful delivery of demanding technology initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement: Keep abreast of relevant platforms and development methods, identifying opportunities to strengthen existing products, processes and technical performance.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
- Education: A degree in computing, software development, information technology or another relevant discipline is required.
- Experience: At least two to three years of professional experience in .NET development, together with practical exposure to ERP platforms or business application development.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
- Communication Skills: The ability to explain technical matters clearly, exchange information effectively and maintain constructive communication with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Interpersonal Skills: A cooperative and professional approach, with the ability to contribute positively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Core Technical Skills: Strong competence in C# and .NET, supported by sound knowledge of relational database design and Microsoft SQL Server.
- ERP Knowledge: Previous involvement in developing or adapting Acumatica, another ERP platform or comparable business management software.
- Additional Technologies: Exposure to React or other JavaScript technologies, ASP.NET Core, Web API and Microsoft Azure would be considered advantageous.
- Organisation: Strong time-management skills, with the capacity to prioritise development assignments and meet agreed project milestones.
- Quality Focus: A careful and methodical approach to producing readable, protected and easily supportable software.
- Self-Motivated: A proactive attitude towards learning, taking ownership of assigned work and maintaining high standards with limited supervision.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical ability, with the resourcefulness to assess technical challenges and develop well-considered solutions.
