Role Overview

Heroix is partnering with our Client to recruit a Junior Tax Accountant to join the tax compliance team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in tax compliance, develop technical expertise, and support the team in delivering high-quality services under the guidance of senior colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Tax Compliance Support: Assist clients from diverse industries with income tax computations, preparation and submission of Malta tax returns, tax refund claims, and other required documentation.
• Regulatory Adherence: Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax-related submissions in line with current legislative requirements.
• Team Assistance: Provide support on tax transactions and contribute to maintaining best practices in tax compliance.
• Legislative Awareness: Keep abreast of changes in Malta tax legislation and support the team in providing well-informed advice.
• Client Liaison: Communicate effectively with Malta tax authorities on behalf of clients while promoting a cooperative and professional team environment.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

• Education: ACCA qualified, or currently pursuing ACCA (or an equivalent professional accounting qualification).
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounts-focused role; prior exposure to Malta tax compliance is advantageous.
• Language Skills: Excellent command of English; fluency in Maltese is considered a plus.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, capable of clearly conveying tax-related information to clients and colleagues.
• Interpersonal Skills: Collaborative and professional approach to teamwork, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; familiarity with tax software and reporting tools is beneficial.
• Organisation: Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and meet deadlines efficiently.
• Self-Motivated: Proactive attitude with a commitment to personal and professional growth.
• Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the capability to identify issues and propose practical solutions.
