Role Overview

This opportunity is ideal for a legal professional seeking to build experience across regulatory affairs, international engagement, and data privacy. The role offers exposure to policy analysis, stakeholder collaboration, legal research, and privacy-related advisory work within a dynamic and evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Regulatory Research & Policy Monitoring: Conduct legal and regulatory research, monitor international and European developments, and support analysis of emerging trends relevant to the sector.

• International Stakeholder Engagement: Support collaboration with regulators, public authorities, industry stakeholders, and international partners, helping maintain effective communication channels and contributing to strategic initiatives.

• EU & Regulatory Advisory Support: Assist with interpreting relevant European and local legal instruments, providing internal support on regulatory developments and their potential implications.

• Data Privacy & Compliance Support: Contribute to data protection compliance initiatives, including research, privacy risk assessments, process support, and implementation of sound governance practices.

• Contractual & Legal Review: Support the review and drafting of contractual provisions, particularly in relation to privacy and regulatory obligations.

• Training & Awareness: Assist in preparing and delivering awareness initiatives and guidance materials to promote strong compliance and data protection practices across the organisation.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

• Education: A degree in Law (MQF Level 6 or equivalent) is required.

• Experience: Previous exposure through internships, traineeships or professional experience within legal practice, regulatory affairs, policy, diplomacy, or privacy-related work will be considered an asset.

• Regulatory Knowledge: Exposure to EU law, public policy, data protection, or regulated industries would be advantageous.

• Communication Skills: Strong drafting, research and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex matters clearly and effectively. The ability to speak in Maltese would be a strong asset.

• Analytical Mindset: Strong attention to detail and ability to assess legal and regulatory developments with a structured, analytical approach.

• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build positive working relationships internally and externally in a collaborative environment.

• Organisation: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting.

• Self-Motivated: Proactive, accountable and eager to contribute within a fast-paced professional environment.
