Role Overview
The Accounting Manager - EU Markets will play a pivotal role in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with statutory requirements. This hands-on position involves close collaboration with internal finance teams, external advisors, and business process outsourcing partners to drive process efficiency and support strategic finance initiatives across the region.
- Financial Management: Oversee accounting operations for one or more entities, ensuring accuracy in trial balances, reconciliations, and monthly and year-end close processes.
- Compliance and Reporting: Support preparation of VAT, corporate tax, and statutory filings, collaborating with external advisors to ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Audit and Internal Controls: Prepare materials for audits and internal reporting, maintaining adherence to internal control standards and corporate policies.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to the standardisation, automation, and implementation of financial systems to enhance operational efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with regional and local teams, including finance leadership and operations, to support seamless financial processes and reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
- Education: Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years in finance or accounting, preferably with experience in a Big 4 environment. Exposure to multi-entity or shared service settings is advantageous.
- Eligibility: Applicants must have a valid EU work permit at the time of application.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of both English and Italian is required.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with internal teams, advisors, and external stakeholders.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work collaboratively in a matrix organisation and build productive relationships across departments and regions.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and compliance requirements across EU jurisdictions. Experience with VAT, tax, and regulatory matters is highly valued.
- Organisation: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Self-Motivated: Proactive and driven to support finance initiatives and continuous improvement.
