Role Overview
The Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role within the finance function, supporting the day-to-day accounting activities across a range of entities operating in different jurisdictions. Working closely with the Finance or Accounting Manager, this position provides broad exposure to cross-border financial operations, statutory requirements, and reporting processes. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal departments, external consultants, and service providers to ensure financial data integrity and the effective execution of finance operations.
- Accounting Operations: Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for assigned entities, including the posting of journals, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, and support during monthly and annual closing processes.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reports, ensuring figures are reliable, timely, and aligned with internal reporting standards and applicable accounting frameworks.
- Compliance Support: Support the preparation and submission of VAT returns, tax documentation, and statutory filings, coordinating with external advisors to ensure compliance with relevant regulations across jurisdictions.
- Audit Assistance: Contribute to internal and external audit processes by preparing required schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to auditor queries in a timely and accurate manner.
- Process Enhancement: Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and contribute to the optimisation of systems and internal controls to strengthen efficiency and accuracy.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise effectively with colleagues across finance, operations, and external partners to ensure smooth financial processes and consistent reporting across multiple entities.
- Education: A recognised qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Professional certification or ongoing studies towards an accounting qualification will be considered advantageous.
- Experience: Between 2 and 4 years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally gained within a professional services firm, corporate finance environment, or shared service centre. Exposure to bookkeeping, reporting, tax-related processes, or general ledger functions will be highly beneficial.
- Language Skills: Strong command of English is essential for this role.
- Communication Skills: Clear and confident communicator with the ability to engage professionally with colleagues, advisors, and external stakeholders.
- Interpersonal Skills: A collaborative mindset with the ability to build effective working relationships across teams and geographic locations.
- Technical Skills: Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes, with experience in reconciliations, VAT compliance, and accounting systems considered an asset.
- Organisation: Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while meeting strict deadlines.
- Self-Motivated: Demonstrates initiative, a willingness to learn, and a proactive approach to professional development.
