Role Overview
The Merchandise Team Leader will lead and support the merchandise team, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard. This role involves overseeing production planning, coordinating resources, and maintaining strong collaboration with management to meet client and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Guide, mentor, and manage the merchandise team, fostering a collaborative and positive environment.
- Operational Oversight: Oversee schedules, production planning, and resource allocation across multiple projects to ensure timely delivery.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement processes that enhance efficiency, consistency, and accountability within the team.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Head of Print & Merchandise to align team efforts with business goals and client requirements.
- Performance Management: Conduct regular team check-ins, training sessions, and performance reviews, tracking outcomes to drive ongoing improvement.
- Project Monitoring: Maintain oversight of multiple merchandise initiatives, stepping in to support the team when needed, and reporting on performance and client feedback.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
- Education: Relevant professional qualifications or training in management, leadership, or merchandising.
- Experience: Proven experience managing a merchandise, print, or production team in a fast-paced environment.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required. Knowledge of Maltese is an advantage.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with team members and stakeholders.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to motivate, support, and manage a diverse team while promoting collaboration.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with project management and scheduling tools; experience in merchandise production, sourcing, or vendor management.
- Organisation: Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands.
- Self-Motivated: Demonstrates initiative, decision-making confidence, and accountability.
- Problem-Solving: Skilled at identifying challenges and implementing effective solutions to maintain workflow and quality standards.
