Role Overview

The Senior Tax Analyst will support the Group’s tax function across corporate tax compliance, international tax analysis, and strategic tax initiatives within a multinational operating environment. This role is suited to a tax professional with strong technical foundations who is comfortable navigating complex cross-border tax frameworks. Maltese tax experience is advantageous but not essential.
Key Responsibilities

• Corporate Tax Compliance: Support corporate tax compliance activities for Maltese-based entities within the Group, assisting with tax provisioning, reporting processes, and ensuring the timely preparation and submission of required tax documentation.
• International Tax Analysis: Analyse tax implications related to the Group’s international operations and potential expansion into new jurisdictions, providing insights that support strategic business decisions.
• Stakeholder Coordination and Advisory Support: Collaborate closely with internal finance teams, external tax advisors, and regulatory authorities to ensure accurate tax compliance and efficient resolution of tax-related matters.
• Transfer Pricing and Tax Projects: Assist with the preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation while contributing to tax optimisation initiatives, compliance improvements, and broader strategic tax projects.
• Audit and Risk Management: Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing tax documentation, identifying potential tax risks, and assisting in the implementation of practical compliance solutions.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related discipline.
• Professional Qualification: A recognised professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA, ADIT, or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Experience: A minimum of 4 years’ relevant professional experience in taxation, ideally gained within Big 4 firms, international advisory practices, or multinational corporate environments.
• Technical Expertise: Strong grounding in corporate tax and international tax principles, with exposure to areas such as corporate tax compliance, transfer pricing, cross-border tax matters, or tax reporting within multinational organisations.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to clearly convey complex tax information to both finance professionals and non-tax stakeholders.
• Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with financial reporting systems or analytical tools used in tax reporting and compliance.
• Organisation: Highly structured approach to managing multiple tax matters simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines in a dynamic corporate environment.
• Self-Motivated: Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and the ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex tax situations, identify potential risks, and recommend practical solutions aligned with business objectives.
