About the Function
The Financial Supervisors Academy (FSA) is licensed by Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) and operates as a professional training academy. It offers specialised training programmes, delivered through a robust, evolving curriculum that aligns with MFSA's mandate, international regulatory trends and best practices. The FSA is the cornerstone of MFSA's dedication to cultivating a skilled, knowledgeable, and proactive regulatory workforce.
About the Role
As Academy Officer you will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
- Coordinating and organising internal training activities across the MFSA, including scheduling, logistics, and end-to-end delivery of training sessions, workshops, and learning activities.
- Supporting curriculum development and maintenance, ensuring programmes remain current, relevant, and aligned with MFSA's mandate and international regulatory trends.
- Assisting in managing relationships with lecturers and trainers, including onboarding, scheduling, and ongoing liaison to ensure quality and consistency of delivery.
- Supporting stakeholder engagement across internal departments and external providers and assisting with the organisation and management of events falling under the FSA's remit.
- Maintaining and developing the organisation's digital knowledge libraries, ensuring training materials, resources, and reference content are well-organised, accessible, and kept up to date.
- Supporting the design and delivery of the organisation's coaching programme.
- Supporting the coordination of the organisation's self-development programme, through which employees may undertake bachelor's, master's, and other higher education programmes.
- Conducting research to inform training content, curriculum design, and best practice, applying strong research and analytical skills to keep programmes current and evidence based.
- Tracking and monitoring budgets relating to internal training activities.
- Conducting follow-ups on completed training sessions, collecting feedback, and compiling reports on training effectiveness.
- Maintaining and updating the training system for internal and external training.
- Acting as a point of contact for employees regarding training-related queries, registrations, and logistical support.
To qualify for this role you must have a relevant academic qualification at National Qualification Framework Level 6 or higher, certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC), or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level, together with at least three (3) years' experience in a related area.
If you do not have the necessary academic or professional qualifications but you have at least seven (7) years' experience in a related area, we would still be interested in speaking with you.
Skills and Competencies:
- Technical knowledge in the area of training and development.
- Knowledge of financial services, regulation, and supervision would be considered an asset.
- Strong research skills, with the ability to gather, analyse, and apply information to inform training and curriculum decisions.
- Working knowledge of generative AI tools and prompt generation techniques, and the ability to apply these to manage tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Strong organisational, time management, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
