

Pre-Graduate Officer (Payroll)
About the Function
The Finance function oversees and manages the finances of the Authority, supporting the various other functions within the Authority in all financial matters, including the preparation of timely management information, revenue collection, payments to suppliers and service providers, payroll, financial control and budgetary control. The function also sets, monitors and improves the operation of the MFSA's financial control framework, ensuring compliance with established policies and controls. It co-ordinates with the Statutory Auditors on the annual audit of the Authority's Financial Statements drawn up in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and is also responsible for the timely submission of required statutorily financial information to Parliament.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Pre-Graduate Officer to support the Payroll team in the Finance function with day-to-day operations. You will be expected to carry out the following tasks:
- Update leave entitlements for pre-graduate officers and employees working reduced hours in the Leave Management System (LMS).
- Compile reports on the total number of hours worked by pre-graduate officers for inclusion in the monthly payroll runs.
- Compile reports on additional hours worked by employees on reduced-hour schedules for inclusion in the monthly payroll runs.
- Update employee details and work schedules in the Leave Management System (LMS).
- Support team members with administrative, general accounting, and other ad hoc tasks as required.
- Undertake any other duties assigned by the Head and/or as required by the MFSA from time to time based on the exigencies of the Authority.
About You
Interested candidates should be currently reading for, or in the process of obtaining a qualification at National Qualification Framework Level 6 or better, duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level in Financial Services, Banking & Finance or any other related area.

During the Employment Period, the Employee shall carry out the following duties:
- Collate, analyse, and process data through a range of tools such as MS Excel, and to also ensure that such data and other records are kept up to date;
- Carry out research analysis;
- Carry out pre-visit preparatory work;
- Compile supervisory information for statistical purposes;
- Coordinate with Supervisory functions, other local authorities and Licence Holders;
- Communication, support and customer service of internal and external stakeholders;
- Undergo other duties and tasks as may be assigned by senior management according to exigencies as may be required.
