Full Time Waiter/Waitress

Tartarun, a fish restaurant on the waterfront in Marsaxlokk, is looking for a full-time waiter/waitress to join our front-of-house team.

We welcome applicants at any experience level — whether you've worked in restaurants before or this would be your first role in hospitality. What matters most to us is attitude: someone presentable, warm with guests, and genuinely eager to learn. Full training will be provided.

Fluent/very good English (spoken and written)
Friendly, hospitable manner with guests
Presentable appearance
Able to stay calm and work well under pressure during busy service
Team player who takes direction well
Reliable and punctual

Main tasks and responsibilities

Guest service – Greet and seat guests, provide attentive, friendly service throughout the meal, and check in to ensure a smooth dining experience.
Menu knowledge – Learn and confidently explain the menu, including daily fish specials and dietary alternatives, to guide guests and answer questions.
Table management – Manage table turns, timing, and seating flow to keep service running smoothly across the floor.
Managing the pass – Coordinate food leaving the kitchen, ensure dishes go out promptly and to the correct table, and liaise between kitchen and floor.
Team coordination – Work closely with kitchen and bar staff, support colleagues during busy periods, and help maintain smooth service flow.

Educational and skill requirements

Previous restaurant or customer service experience is an advantage but not essential — we're happy to train the right person from scratch.

Maltese speaking is considered an asset
