Recruitment Specialist

Position Summary

The Recruitment Specialist is responsible for managing the full recruitment lifecycle—including sourcing, hiring, and onboarding—to support the needs of Attard projects, materials, properties and retail operations. The role ensures timely mobilisation of talent, maintains a high-quality candidate experience, and contributes to strengthening the company’s employer brand within the construction sector.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Recruitment

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for technical, skilled trades, site-based, and office-based roles.
  • Develop job descriptions and job adverts tailored to Group’s requirements (e.g., Site Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Project Manager, Masons, Electricians).
  • Source candidates through multiple channels: Job Portals, social media, recruitment agencies and trade schools such as MCAST.
  • Screen CVs, pre-qualify applicants, and conduct preliminary interviews where required.
  • Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and provide guidance on effective selection methods.
  • Maintain active talent pipelines for critical and hard-to-fill construction positions.

Workforce Planning & Support

  • Work with project managers and site leaders to understand manpower requirements by project phase.
  • Monitor labour forecasts and proactively recruit ahead of project mobilisation.
  • Support the HR Manager with workforce analytics and recruitment reports.

Onboarding

  • Prepare offer letters, employment contracts, and pre-employment documentation.
  • Liaise with external recruitment partners
  • Provide regular updates to management on recruitment progress
  • Manage the full onboarding process for new hires to ensure a smooth transition into the company.
  • Coordinate medical tests and certification checks required in the construction industry.

Temporary Staffing

  • Work closely with project managers and site supervisors to identify short term labour requirements due to project peaks, urgent mobilisation, or staff absences
  • Liaise with approved temporary staffing agencies to request profiles, negotiate rates, and ensure timely placement of skilled labour
  • Verify that all temporary workers supplied by agencies have valid work permit documentation

Quality and Continual Improvement

  • Carry out duties with attention to quality and contribute to the continual improvement of work processes

Health & Safety

  • Maintain a safe and healthy working environment by following all health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices, and promptly reporting hazards, incidents, and near misses
  • Ensure that all new employees are given proper PPE as per job requirements

Environment

  • Comply with all environmental policies, procedures, and legal requirements, and actively support initiatives to reduce environmental impact, waste, and resource consumption in the workplace
Educational and skill requirements

Level of Education Standard & Experience Required

  • MQF LEVEL 3 (O’LEVEL GRADE 1-5)
  • YEARS OF WORKING EXPERIENCE – 2 years
  • TYPE OF WORKING EXPERIENCE - Recruitment
  • LANGUAGES- WRITTEN/SPOKEN - strong communication skills in English

  • Fluent with MS Office Applications (Word, Excel…)

Health & Safety

  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures
