Japanese Street Food Chef

As the Street Food Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Japanese Street Food kitchen.

This includes managing a team of kitchen staff, ensuring high-quality food service, maintaining stock levels, and upholding our commitment to sustainability while delivering exceptional street food to our customers.

Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the street food kitchen, ensuring efficient service delivery.
  • Collaborate with the management team to achieve and maintain target Gross Profit (GP) margins.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to kitchen staff, fostering a positive, productive and fun work environment.
  • Uphold high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation, in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards at all times.
Educational and skill requirements
  • Previous experience as a Teppanyaki Chef, preferably in a high-volume street food environment.
  • Strong team skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff and colleagues.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain a positive demeanour in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards.
  • Passion for sustainable food and beverage practices.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
