Pastry Chef
Meliteh Recruiting is currently seeking a talented Pastry Chef to join our client’s team on a full-time basis in Malta. We are looking for a passionate individual with a strong background in pastry preparation and a commitment to delivering exceptional desserts and baked goods.
• Oversee the daily operations of the pastry section, ensuring the production of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods
• Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new dessert menus, balancing creativity with customer preferences
• Mentor pastry staff to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency in production
• Ensure consistency in the preparation and presentation of all pastry items according to established standards
• Manage inventory levels effectively, minimizing waste and ensuring timely ordering of supplies
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all pastry work areas, utensils, and equipment
• Adhere to kitchen policies, procedures, and sanitation standards, including safety and HACCP guidelines
• Willingness to work on a shift basis, including weekends and holidays, to meet operational needs
• Proven experience working in a restaurant or hotel kitchen environment, with a focus on pastry preparation
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry decoration, and dessert presentation
• Holder of a valid food handler license
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
• Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for creating visually appealing and delicious pastries
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a kitchen team, demonstrating leadership when necessary
