Tax Senior Team Leader
Meliteh Recruiting is seeking an experienced Tax Senior Team Leader to join our client’s team on a full-time basis in Malta.
The successful candidate will manage a small team of tax professionals, oversee client interactions, and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
This role requires a deep understanding of Maltese income tax matters and the ability to navigate international tax regulations.
• Managing a small team of tax professionals and ensuring their development and productivity
• Engaging with clients and tax authorities on a daily basis to address inquiries and compliance matters
• Reviewing tax returns for corporate entities and individuals, tax refund claim forms, shareholder registrations, and other tax compliance-related work
• Planning and organizing work to ensure deadlines are met effectively
• Delivering technical training sessions internally to enhance team knowledge and skills
• Staying updated with tax developments both locally and internationally to provide informed advice and strategies
• A graduate from the University of Malta with a Master's in Accountancy or a holder of an ACCA qualification
• A minimum of three years of working experience in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of Maltese income tax matters, including tax payment and refund mechanisms, fiscal unity, capital gains tax, notional interest deduction, and double taxation relief
• Understanding of the international tax climate, including ATAD, OECD Treaties, Interest and Royalties Directive, Royalties Directive, and Parent-Subsidiary Directive
• Results-driven with excellent planning and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and effective time management skills
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken
• Analytical mindset with good problem-solving abilities, ensuring high-quality service delivery
