Role Overview
The Compliance Specialist will play an integral role within the compliance team, ensuring adherence to regulatory frameworks, internal policies, and international AML/CFT obligations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to broaden their knowledge, contribute to risk management processes, and support a wide-ranging client base.

Key Responsibilities

• Regulatory Communication: Assist with ongoing monitoring and ensure timely reviews of all regulatory communications and filings.
• Client On-boarding: Collect, verify, and maintain due diligence documentation in line with client acceptance procedures.
• Risk Management: Conduct and review Client Risk Assessments during on-boarding and throughout the client relationship lifecycle.
• Screening & Investigations: Carry out and analyse client screening investigations, ensuring compliance with AML/CFT regulations.
• Compliance Monitoring: Support the implementation of internal policies, compliance checks, and audit procedures, ensuring records and documentation are up to date.
• Cross-Department Liaison: Collaborate with internal departments to address compliance-related queries and gather necessary information.
• Training Support: Assist with the preparation and delivery of AML/CFT training for colleagues.
• Reporting: Contribute to the identification and reporting of suspicious transactions and ensure adherence to multinational AML laws and sanctions.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

• Education: Entry-level AML qualifications or evidence of relevant training will be considered an asset.
• Experience: Minimum of two to three years’ experience in AML/CFT compliance, preferably within corporate services or financial services.
• Language Skills: Excellent command of English, both verbal and written, is required. Knowledge of Maltese would be considered an asset.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities, particularly in preparing reports and liaising with stakeholders.
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being comfortable with independent decision-making.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook, with solid knowledge of Maltese regulatory frameworks, company and trust law, and AML/CFT practices.
• Organisation: Skilled in managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines efficiently.
• Self-Motivated: Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Problem-Solving: Adept at identifying compliance risks and implementing appropriate solutions.
