Role Overview
Heroix is partnering with the Client to recruit a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join their team. This role involves deploying cybersecurity technologies and services, collaborating closely with engineering colleagues and project teams to ensure robust and secure IT environments for clients. The successful candidate will also provide advanced tier 2 and 3 security operations support, contribute to on-call duties, and manage incident response and remediation activities.

Key Responsibilities

Implementation of Security Solutions: Deploy and configure cybersecurity tools and services to establish secure client infrastructures.
Operational Support: Provide tier 2 and tier 3 support for security incidents, including analysis, response, and mitigation.
Collaboration: Work alongside other technical engineers and project teams to design and maintain secure systems.
Incident Management: Participate in on-call rotations, handling security alerts and ensuring timely remediation.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to enhancing security processes and automation through scripting and tool optimisation.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

Education: A degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or a related field is required.
Experience: A minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in configuring and troubleshooting VPNs, IPS, content security, and SIEM systems.
Language Skills: Excellent command of English is essential to succeed in this role.
Communication Skills: Ability to clearly articulate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Interpersonal Skills: Team-oriented with strong collaboration capabilities and willingness to support peers.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in IP networking, routing, firewalls, endpoint security, and familiarity with at least three of the following: Next Generation Firewalls, Network Intrusion Detection/Prevention, Web Application Firewalls, Log Management, Cloud Security, SOAR platforms, Endpoint Security Suites. Automation experience using PowerShell or Python is highly valued.
Organisation: Effective multitasking and prioritisation in a fast-paced environment.
Self-Motivated: Driven to maintain high standards and proactively address security challenges.
Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and ability to resolve complex issues efficiently.
Certifications: Candidates holding certifications from recognised providers such as Check Point, Cisco, or CyberArk will be preferred.
