Role Overview

Our Client is seeking a motivated Junior Lawyer to join its litigation team. In this role, you will assist in the management of cases, support senior lawyers, and gain hands-on experience across all stages of dispute resolution. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your litigation skills within a collaborative and dynamic team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Case Support: Assist in the preparation and management of litigation files, ensuring deadlines and procedural requirements are met.
• Legal Drafting: Prepare and review pleadings, motions, and other legal documents under the guidance of senior lawyers.
• Court Assistance: Support senior lawyers in court proceedings, mediations, and arbitrations, including attending hearings and taking notes.
• Research & Analysis: Conduct legal research on cases, contracts, and relevant legislation to provide actionable recommendations.
• Evidence Review: Analyse documents and assist in preparing evidence for hearings or negotiations.
• Client Support: Maintain clear and timely communication with clients under supervision, ensuring high-quality service.
• Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and mentorship programs to develop litigation expertise.

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

• Education: Law Degree required.
• Experience: Admission to the Maltese Bar is required; practical exposure to litigation or dispute resolution is an advantage.
• Language Skills: Excellent command of both Maltese and English.
• Communication: Ability to clearly present legal arguments in writing and orally.
• Interpersonal Skills: Collaborative team player with strong client focus.
• Organisation: Able to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
• Self-Motivated: Willingness to learn, take initiative, and seek guidance when needed.
• Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with a keen interest in legal strategy and dispute resolution.
