Role Overview
Heroix is partnering with a reputable player in the maritime and logistics industry to recruit a Ship Operations Officer. This role offers the opportunity to support vessel-related activities, ensuring smooth coordination of port operations while working closely with internal teams, international principals, and external service providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Vessel Coordination: Assist in organising and managing all documentation and logistical requirements related to vessel arrivals, berthing, cargo handling, and departures.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with international principals, port authorities, and third-party service providers to ensure efficient and timely operations.
- Operational Support: Provide day-to-day assistance to the Operations Team, contributing to the smooth running of maritime activities.
- Documentation Handling: Prepare, review, and maintain accurate operational records and shipping documentation in line with industry requirements.
- On-Site Assistance: Support port and shipyard activities when required, including potential visits to vessels as part of operational duties.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
- Education: A minimum qualification equivalent to MQF Level 4 or higher.
- Experience: Previous exposure to shipping, maritime, or logistics environments would be advantageous, although not essential as training will be provided.
- Driving License: Driving license category B is required.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of both Maltese and English is required to succeed in this role.
- Communication Skills: Able to convey information clearly and professionally with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Interpersonal Skills: A collaborative team player with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Technical Skills: Comfortable using standard office applications and systems, with general computer literacy.
- Organisation: Capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-Motivated: Demonstrates initiative, a willingness to learn, and a proactive attitude towards responsibilities.
