Role Overview
Heroix is collaborating with a respected organisation in the legal services sector to recruit a Licensing and Compliance Coordinator. The successful candidate will provide administrative and operational assistance across client licensing and compliance matters, with particular exposure to the gaming and gambling sectors, but also other regulated business areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Internal Coordination: Maintain well-organised regulatory resources and ensure that relevant licensing information is readily accessible to colleagues and senior professionals within the practice.
- Multi-Jurisdictional Administration: Provide administrative assistance in connection with licence-related responsibilities spanning Malta and other international markets.
- Application Management: Help compile new applications, renewals and regulatory approval requests by completing documentation, collecting supporting records and maintaining accurate deadline trackers.
- Regulatory Compliance: Assist senior colleagues with recurring compliance duties affecting businesses operating in gaming, gambling and other supervised sectors.
- Authority Liaison: Draft professional correspondence and coordinate documentation for communication and filings with regulatory bodies in Malta and overseas.
- Regulatory Research: Follow legislative and supervisory developments across relevant jurisdictions, identify matters of potential importance and bring them to the attention of senior team members.
- Audit Preparation: Arrange, review and maintain compliance records required for regulatory reviews, inspections and audit exercises.
- Team Contribution: Work constructively with colleagues across the practice and contribute to a supportive, cooperative and professional workplace.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree or postgraduate qualification in law, compliance, business, finance or another relevant discipline.
- Experience: At least two years of experience in a compliance-related position, including practical involvement in Customer Due Diligence. Previous exposure to regulatory permissions or licence administration would be advantageous.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal abilities, with the confidence to prepare clear correspondence and communicate professionally with colleagues, clients and regulatory bodies.
- Interpersonal Skills: A cooperative and approachable manner, together with the ability to establish effective working relationships across different teams and jurisdictions.
- Technical Skills: Sound knowledge of Malta’s licensing framework, with the ability to compile and check application forms, supporting evidence and compliance-related records.
- Organisation: Excellent attention to detail and the capacity to prioritise several assignments, maintain reliable records and deliver work within demanding timeframes.
- Self-Motivated: A dependable and proactive approach, with the confidence to complete assigned duties independently while seeking guidance when appropriate.
- Problem-Solving: The ability to recognise missing information, anticipate administrative issues and take practical steps to keep regulatory processes progressing efficiently.
