Business Applications Developer (.NET/ERP)
Salary Package: €38,000 to €43,000
Hybrid Working Arrangement

About Our Client
Heroix is collaborating with an established ICT solutions provider with extensive experience delivering technology services to organisations across Malta and international markets. Operating within the technology sector, our Client provides expertise across business software, systems integration, FinTech, cloud solutions, cyber security and regulatory technology, supporting organisations in sectors including financial services, banking and iGaming.

Role Overview
Our Client is seeking a Business Applications Developer to contribute to the development and enhancement of ERP platforms, enterprise applications and tailored business systems. The position combines software engineering with a strong understanding of how organisations operate, requiring someone who can engage with customers, assess operational needs and turn business challenges into practical technology solutions.

The successful candidate will contribute to ERP-related projects, bespoke business applications, software integrations and internally developed products. This opportunity would suit a developer who enjoys understanding the wider purpose behind a system rather than focusing solely on individual development tasks.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Application Development: Design, build and enhance enterprise-level applications using C# and .NET, ensuring solutions are reliable, maintainable and aligned with operational requirements.
  • ERP Solutions: Contribute to the implementation, configuration and enhancement of ERP environments, including Acumatica, together with related business and financial applications.
  • Requirements Analysis: Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to establish their operational needs, assess requirements and convert them into clear and effective software solutions.
  • Process Assessment: Examine existing business procedures, identify areas where technology could improve efficiency and contribute ideas for redesigning or streamlining workflows.
  • Solution Design: Participate in defining suitable technical approaches by considering both the immediate development requirement and the wider commercial or operational objective.
  • Systems Integration: Develop and maintain connections between applications, databases and other systems to support efficient movement of information across business platforms.
  • Workflow & Transaction Development: Build application logic that supports business rules, approval processes, operational workflows and transaction-based activities.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Maintain effective communication with customers and project stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle, helping to clarify expectations and refine proposed solutions where necessary.
  • Technical Problem-Solving: Investigate application and system challenges, determine underlying causes and develop appropriate solutions with a focus on long-term effectiveness.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing development of applications, products and technical practices while remaining current with relevant technologies and approaches.
Educational and skill requirements

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

  • Education: A degree in Computing, Software Development, Information Technology or another relevant technology discipline is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years' professional experience developing applications with .NET is required, together with practical exposure to ERP platforms, financial software or complex business systems.
  • Business Applications Experience: Candidates should have experience developing software that supports significant organisational processes rather than solely standalone or narrowly focused applications.
  • Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to discuss requirements, technical considerations and proposed solutions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal Skills: A collaborative and customer-focused approach, with the ability to establish productive relationships and contribute effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Technical Skills: Strong practical knowledge of C# and the .NET ecosystem, supported by solid experience working with SQL and relational database technologies.
  • ERP Knowledge: Familiarity with developing, adapting or supporting ERP environments, financial platforms or comparable enterprise software is important. Exposure to Acumatica would be particularly relevant.
  • Business Analysis: Ability to understand how business functions operate, evaluate requirements critically and recognise where technology can support more effective processes.
  • Organisation: Capable of managing development priorities, requirements and project responsibilities in a structured manner while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Self-Motivated: Proactive and commercially aware, with the confidence to take ownership of assigned work and look beyond the immediate technical brief.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical capability with the ability to examine complex requirements, identify underlying issues and develop practical, well-considered solutions.
