Sales & Marketing Assistant

Key Responsibilities

• Business Prospecting: Research organisations that may require the product that the company produces and identify promising avenues for commercial growth.
• Contact Identification: Locate the appropriate buyers, procurement representatives and other influential contacts within prospective customer organisations.
• Lead Engagement: Approach new contacts through telephone calls, emails, professional networking sites, trade connections and relevant business gatherings.
• Service Promotion: Present the Company’s production solutions and capabilities clearly to prospective customers, encouraging further commercial discussions.
• Database Management: Develop reliable lists of existing and prospective customers, ensuring that contact details and engagement histories remain complete and current.
• Market Intelligence: Follow developments within domestic and overseas markets, sharing useful findings with the Commercial Department.
• CRM and Systems Administration: Record new leads, communications and commercial activity promptly within the CRM and management information systems.
• Commercial Coordination: Liaise with colleagues to clarify priority customer groups, commercial objectives and current business needs.
• Meeting Assistance: Help colleagues gather information and prepare relevant materials ahead of customer appointments and presentations.
• Marketing Support: Assist the Head of Commercial with the planning and coordination of promotional campaigns, materials and related assignments.
• Digital Content Updates: Publish approved information supplied by the Sales Department across the Company’s website and social media accounts.
• Customer Communications: Distribute promotional material to clients in line with the communication schedule agreed by the Sales Department.
• Content Library: Organise and maintain a central collection of photographs, videos and other media showcasing the Company’s facilities, processes and products.
• Trade Events: Coordinate promotional tasks connected with exhibitions, fairs and other industry occasions attended by the Business.
• Additional Support: Undertake other reasonable commercial or administrative assignments when required.

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

• Experience: Previous exposure to prospecting, sales coordination, customer acquisition or a similar commercially focused function is required.
• Sector Awareness: Familiarity with manufacturing environments would be advantageous.
• Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
• Communication Skills: Able to introduce services confidently and communicate professionally with prospective customers through different channels.
• Interpersonal Skills: Comfortable initiating new relationships and collaborating effectively with sales, marketing and commercial colleagues.
• Technical Skills: Competent in using CRM platforms and handling organised commercial records. Familiarity with website and social media administration would be beneficial.
• Organisation: Capable of coordinating several priorities while keeping information, schedules and promotional resources properly maintained.
• Attention to Detail: Demonstrates care and accuracy when recording contacts, updating systems and distributing marketing content.
• Self-Motivated: Takes initiative in researching opportunities, contacting prospects and following through on assigned activities.
• Target Orientation: Remains focused on generating worthwhile leads and contributing towards the Commercial Department’s objectives.
• Problem-Solving: Able to evaluate information, recognise potential opportunities and respond practically to changing business requirements.
